SaveIt is a personal bookmark manager with AI enrichment. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

What Data We Collect and Why
1. Authentication Data
What we collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- User ID (generated by Firebase)
- OAuth provider (Google, Microsoft, or Apple)
Why:
- To authenticate your identity when you use the extension
- To associate saved bookmarks with your account
- To prevent unauthorized access to your bookmarks
How long we keep it:
- Until you delete your account
- You can revoke access anytime via your Google/Microsoft/Apple account settings
2. Bookmark Data
What we collect:
- URL of the page you saved
- Page title
- Timestamp when you saved it
Why:
- Core functionality - this is what you asked us to save
- To display your saved bookmarks in the dashboard
How long we keep it:
- Until you delete the bookmark
- Raw save events are kept indefinitely in append-only logs (for debugging and re-enrichment)
3. Enriched Content
What we collect:
- Full text extracted from the saved page
- AI-generated semantic tags
- 768-dimensional embeddings (vector representations)
- Metadata (author, publish date, etc.)
Why:
- To enable semantic search and categorization
- To show you related content
- To power the 3D knowledge graph
How long we keep it:
- Until you delete the bookmark
- Embeddings are cached for performance
Third-party processors:
- Jina AI Reader (extracts text from URLs)
- DeepSeek LLM (generates semantic tags)
- Google Vertex AI (creates embeddings)
These processors see the content of pages you save but do not store it.
4. Usage Analytics
What we collect:
- Feature usage (which features you use, how often)
- Error logs (stack traces when things break)
- Performance metrics (load times, search latency)
Why:
- To improve the product
- To debug issues
- To prioritize feature development
What we DO NOT collect:
- Mouse movements or keystrokes
- Browsing history beyond what you explicitly save
- Any data from pages you visit but don’t save
How long we keep it:
- Aggregated analytics: indefinitely
- Individual logs: 90 days
How We Use Your Data
We use your data exclusively to:
- Provide the SaveIt service (saving, enrichment, search)
- Improve the product (analytics, debugging)
- Communicate with you (service updates, security alerts)
We never:
- Sell your data to advertisers or data brokers
- Use your data to train models for other customers
- Share your bookmarks with other users (unless you explicitly enable sharing features in the future)
Data Security
Infrastructure:
- Google Cloud Platform (enterprise-grade security)
- Firestore (encrypted at rest and in transit)
- BigQuery (access-controlled vector search)
Access controls:
- Only authenticated users can access their own data
- Engineers have access only for debugging (logged and audited)
- Third-party AI services process data transiently (not stored)
Encryption:
- HTTPS for all data in transit
- AES-256 for data at rest
- OAuth tokens are never stored (only session tokens)
Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data: Export all bookmarks and metadata via the dashboard
- Delete your data: Delete individual bookmarks or your entire account
- Revoke access: Disconnect SaveIt from your Google/Microsoft/Apple account
- Opt out of analytics: Contact us to disable usage tracking
Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data kept indefinitely while account is active
- Deleted bookmarks: Soft-deleted for 30 days (recoverable), then permanently deleted
- Deleted accounts: All data permanently deleted within 7 days
Changes to This Policy
We’ll notify you of significant changes via:
- Email (if we have your address)
- In-app notification
- Update to this page with new “Last Updated” date
